The seal is an important part of the refrigeration unit.
Thanks to this rubber part, the refrigerator door closes easily, silently and tightly.
Warm air does not enter the chambers of a closed device, so food can be stored for a very long time.
But there is a small problem: many housewives clean this rubber incorrectly.
Common mistakes of housewives
Some people limit themselves to simply wiping the seal with a damp cloth. This is the wrong approach: it does not make the rubber part perfectly clean.
Other housewives use "aggressive" household chemicals. This method can hardly be called good either.
And it's not that the products used allegedly damage the refrigerator gasket. It's unlikely that anything will happen to the device. But an unpleasant "chemical" smell may appear, which will also permeate the food stored in the refrigerator.
How to clean the seal correctly
You need to use toothpaste. This hygiene product is safe and smells good.
At the same time, the paste copes well with dirt on rubber material: no worse than cleaning powders.
To restore the seal to cleanliness, take an old toothbrush (which you no longer plan to use for brushing your teeth), squeeze a little toothpaste onto it and “go over” the refrigerator gasket with it.
