The task of thermal underwear is to ensure proper thermoregulation.
However, this quality can be lost due to improper care of the products.
Therefore, before you start washing thermal underwear, carefully read the instructions on the clothing label - as a rule, here the manufacturers indicate the washing method and acceptable temperature, as well as the possibility of using spinning and drying in a tumble dryer, as well as other important information.
If you do not find any tags on your clothes, use the universal rules in this article to ensure that washing will not ruin your items.
First, try to determine what material the clothing is made of.
So, if you have established that thermal underwear is of synthetic origin, you can forget about dry cleaning and washing with aggressive substances (chlorine and other bleaches). Wool, especially merino, requires careful handling, and polypropylene items should never be washed at a temperature exceeding 30 degrees, and especially not ironed.
Secondly, if you decide to wash thermal underwear in a washing machine, choose the most delicate mode from those presented and turn off the spin function.
Thirdly, do not use granulated powder or laundry soap for washing. Instead, either buy products specifically designed for thermal underwear or use washing gels.
And fourthly, dry your clothes properly – by hanging them on hangers at a positive temperature in a ventilated room.
