Why Scissors Don't Cut: Understanding the Reasons

Scissors are a necessary tool that can be found in every home.

However, it often happens that the device does not want to work at all and simply refuses to cut the material. This unpleasant phenomenon can have 2 reasons.

1. The fastening connecting the 2 running parts of the tool has become loose.

In such a situation, you need to take a screwdriver and properly secure the screw on the scissors.

In some cases, you may need pliers, depending on what type of head the fastener that holds the two parts together has.

2. The blades of the scissors have become dull.

The most obvious way to restore the sharpness of your scissors is to use a sharpening machine.

If you don’t have a special device at hand, try using sandpaper, a sheet of which should be cut with scissors.

If the manipulations performed did not lead to the desired result, try to repeat the procedure again.
