What Housewives Used to Replace Humidifiers in Soviet Times: Still Relevant Today

Over the past few decades, technological progress has made great strides.

Now we have things at our disposal that no one could have imagined before: laptops, mobile phones, robot vacuum cleaners, and, of course, air humidifiers.

We will talk about the latter today.

Despite the fact that these devices have become popular relatively (everything is relative in this world) recently, this does not mean that their “analogues” did not exist before.

For example, during the Soviet era, the following design was widespread, made from a pipe and a strip of metal.

One end of the pipe was supposed to be sealed, and a strip of metal was attached to the other and fixed to the radiator.

The result was a kind of “bucket” that needed to be filled with water.

This DIY device was quite common – no less than wet towels hung on a radiator or regular basins filled with water. What to use now is your choice.
