Many housewives, having entered the fruit and vegetable section of the supermarket, fill their shopping carts to the brim.

Everything goes into shopping baskets – vegetables, fruits, and, of course, greens.

Green salad is no exception.

In addition to the fact that it can be used as a component for preparing various dishes, the salad can be a great table decoration: even a simple cutlet placed on a lettuce leaf, and not on an empty plate, will look festive.

But we've digressed a bit: this isn't about setting the table, it's about how to keep supplies fresh for longer.

So, if you bought a bunch of lettuce and are now racking your brains over how to prolong its freshness, first transfer the greens into a container.

Now place a paper napkin on top – directly on the salad – and confidently close the container with a lid.

The napkin will act as an absorbent and soak up the liquid, which will prevent the salad from spoiling quickly.
