Many homeowners who have their own basement at their disposal are faced with the problem of increased dampness that reigns in these rooms.
An expert of the online publication BelNovosti, agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh told how to deal with this most unpleasant phenomenon.
To dry out a basement, you can use three effective methods at once.
1. Drying with a roaster
Before you start the procedure, open absolutely all the holes. After that, install the brazier and light a fire in it. All that remains is to wait until the warm air leaves the cellar through the open holes.
2. Drying with a candle
Place the candle so that it is directly under the air vent and its flame is exactly in the middle.
Thanks to the warm air from the candle, you will be able to start forced ventilation and maintain the draft in the pipe. However, this method is not very fast - it takes about 7-8 days for the moisture to evaporate from the cellar.
3. Drying with a dehumidifier
This device is mainly used for rooms that boast a large area. It is best to dry periodically, little by little.
