A trick for those who made the wrong choice in the store.
At first glance, the tangerines seem ripe and beautiful. But once home, disappointment sets in – they are sour, and there are a lot of seeds.
If the taste of a fruit makes you wince, don't throw it away. You can fix it by using the Japanese method.
The method is simple, but it makes tangerines much sweeter. The Japanese give citrus fruits two "baths". It all takes about 10 minutes.
First, the fruit is placed in warm water. Pour enough liquid into a bowl to completely immerse the fruit. The water temperature should be about 40 degrees.
After 10 minutes, the tangerines are transferred to a bowl of cold water. The secret is simple: due to the sharp temperature change, the acid breaks down, and the fruit acquires a sweeter and more pleasant taste.
