People have been doing laundry for hundreds of years, and in the 21st century it is an important task that helps you always look neat and beautiful.
But the difference is that in the old days people associated washing with various signs. Now they look a little naive and are more likely to be presented as curious facts.
Night ban
They said that you can't dry your laundry at night. All the negativity was associated with the moonlight that fell on your clothes. It was believed that this doomed the owners of the clothes to bad luck and health problems.
Therefore, they tried to dry things in the sun. They believed that such fabric is filled with positive energy, warms and strengthens health.
You can't do it in the morning
Early morning was also taboo. The sign warned that a person who starts the day with laundry "washes away" luck. One time was considered ideal - before lunch.
Three days
The day of the week also played a role for our ancestors. For example, washing was prohibited on Monday. The same was true for Tuesday. It was said that those who violated the rules would be penniless and in trouble. On Saturday, people risked bringing on a quarrel with their loved ones, and on Sunday – bad luck and illness.
The beliefs left only three days. Wednesday was considered the most successful for washing, and Thursday and Friday were "reserve" days.
