Unpleasant odor coming from shoes is a common problem for many people during the warmer months.
There are several ways that will help you to confidently take off your shoes when visiting someone and not “spill” your shoes with various sprays and perfumes.
Sage and lavender
Plants are great at fighting unpleasant odors. A few sage leaves or a couple of lavender sprigs will do wonders overnight. The effect can be improved by taking the shoes out into the fresh air afterwards.
Orange, lemon or grapefruit
The fruit can be eaten or used to prepare a dish. You only need the peel. Just put the peel in your sneakers or shoes, and there will be no smell in the morning. But there will be an unobtrusive aroma of citrus.
Tea
One of the easiest ways. You just need to put a tea bag in each shoe. Leave it overnight. For a better and faster effect, you can use 3-5 bags.
Hydrogen peroxide
The drugstore product kills bacteria. And they are known to be the cause of unpleasant odor. The peroxide is applied to a cotton pad and the inside of the shoes is wiped.
Essential oil and salt
If the shoes are also damp from the inside, then this remedy is one of the best. Add salt to an old sock without holes, moisten the fabric with 3-5 drops of any essential oil. Put one such bag in each shoe. The oil will fill the shoes with a pleasant smell, and the salt will absorb the moisture.
