Flowers in bouquets fade so quickly! But you want to prolong their blooming as long as possible.

Many people know that to do this you need to change the water daily, renew the cut on the stem and throw a little sugar into the vase.

But it is also very important to correctly place the bouquet in the house, since the lifespan of the flowers largely depends on its location.

Minimize temperature fluctuations

The risk of extreme temperature changes is important to consider when buying cut flowers in the cold season. If possible, make sure that the bouquet is wrapped in several layers of paper in the store.

Delicate petals are very sensitive to cold, and at sub-zero temperatures they will quickly freeze and in the warmth they will instantly lose their beauty.

Flowers should not be subjected to temperature shock upon arrival at home, so first unwrap them in a cooler room, such as a hallway, to allow them to get used to the heat. After a few hours, they can be moved to a warm room.

Avoid drafts

Flowers do not like drafts, so do not place the vase near open windows or doors. This leads to hypothermia and accelerated wilting.

The sun is the enemy

Plants will fade faster when exposed to direct sunlight, so keep them away from windowsills and sunny areas.

It is also worth remembering that flowers for sale are grown in greenhouses, so they are not accustomed to sunlight. Do not place the vase near an open window, otherwise the plant will get sunburned.

Away from fruits

Fruits release ethylene, which accelerates the flowering process and brings the bouquet's time to wither.

Keep away from heating appliances

Heat intensifies all processes in the plant's organism, even if it is cut. Therefore, the bouquet quickly fades and loses its decorative effect.
Also, very hot air has a negative effect even on indoor flowers growing in pots, not to mention cut flowers.

No smoking

Keep flowers away from cigarette smoke, as it has a negative effect not only on humans but also on plants.

To ensure that the bouquet pleases the eye for as long as possible, it makes sense to take it to a cooler place at night (in the hallway, on the window).

However, the temperature difference should not be too great. This technique allows you to imitate natural cycles when a warm day is followed by a cool night.
