Almost every bathroom has a rug that protects your feet from the cold and reduces the risk of slipping on wet tiles.
Over time, these useful products become a breeding ground for fungi and bacteria. To restore the rug to its original cleanliness, it must be washed periodically.
However, this must be done correctly so that pathogenic microorganisms are killed and the color and shape of the product are preserved.
If we are talking about synthetic rugs, they are machine washed. Choose a temperature no higher than 60 °C and turn off the spin. Wash using fabric softener.
Rubber and silicone products are easy to wash by hand. The mat is soaked in water, sprinkled with washing powder and left for 10-15 minutes. Then thoroughly cleaned with a brush or a hard sponge and rinsed with warm water.
It is also recommended to clean a rug made of natural fibers (jute, cotton, bamboo) by hand. The product is washed in a solution of 1 cup of white vinegar, a little warm water and 2 tbsp. of any dishwashing detergent. Dissolve 3 caps of the resulting mixture in 10 liters of water, wet a sponge and wipe the rug. It is better to dry such a product on the balcony or outside.
