Not every housewife knows what to do if an item gets stained after washing.
And this happens quite often. After all, even high-quality products can easily fade if they are exposed to hot water and powder or other detergents.
Of course, it is desirable not to allow things to become stained. Therefore, it is advisable to wash dark, light, and colored clothes separately. And if serious stains appear on things, then you need to use special products that protect against fading.
What to do if the item has been stained after washing, when it has already happened? It is still possible to return the original appearance of "spoiled" clothes. This is done with the help of popular folk, proven remedies.
For white things
If a white item has faded, the following remedy can serve as a “first aid”.
1. Immediately after washing, before the item has had time to dry completely, you need to place it in a basin of warm water. Wash out the faded spots with laundry soap. Since this detergent contains alkali, fresh colored stains quickly disappear from the material. If laundry soap does not help, you can soak the item in bleach and then wash it by hand.
2. For items made from natural fabrics, boiling the items is a good option. Pour water into a large saucepan, add soda and salt (1 small spoon per liter). But remember that linen and cotton are significantly depleted after such a procedure. Therefore, it is advisable to boil linen only in the rarest cases, when absolutely necessary.
3. Ammonia is a proven remedy.
- Pour 10 liters of water.
- Add 1 large spoon of ammonia to the liquid.
- Place the clothes in there and heat on the stove until it boils.
- Rinse the item in cool water and dry thoroughly.
4. How to restore the former brightness of things? Have clothes faded and lost their rich colors? Then vinegar and salt will come to the rescue.
If it is silk or wool, then after washing it is enough to rinse the item in cold water, adding vinegar at the rate of 1 tbsp. per 3 liters. By doing this procedure every time the item is washed, you can return it to its former brightness and beauty.
5. If it is cotton or linen fabric, then the items must be rinsed in a saline solution at a rate of 1 spoon per 5 liters.
