One of the fashion trends is artificially aged and damaged clothes. Jeans are the most often affected in this regard.
Let's find out how to properly wash ripped jeans or jeans with scuffs so that they don't accidentally tear even more - in a washing machine or by hand?
In the washing machine
Even if the manufacturer does not prohibit washing such items in a washing machine, it is better to put them in a laundry bag. In this case, the risk that the jeans will catch during the spin cycle and the hole in the leg will become even bigger is excluded.
As for household chemicals, you should use only those products that are recommended by the manufacturer. The same applies to water temperature.
It is better to use liquid compositions – gels or capsules for colored items.
Washing mode
If, in addition to holes, the jeans are decorated with beads, rivets and other decorative elements, you need to choose a delicate mode. In this case, the spin should not exceed 600 rpm.
The water temperature should not exceed 30 degrees Celsius and only in rare cases not exceed 50 degrees. Washing time is about 60 minutes, and pre-washing should be excluded. Excessive exposure of denim to water leads to deformation of the material.
Drying
Ripped jeans should dry in a strictly horizontal position.
