The problem of living creatures in cereals and flour is especially relevant for housewives who like to stock up on food.
Fighting bugs is more difficult. Especially in cases where they have already laid eggs. Therefore, it is better to prevent their appearance than to throw away products or use chemicals.
To prevent living creatures from infesting flour, housewives use so-called “aromatic protection.”
A product that has a strong smell is placed directly into the bag or sack where the flour is stored. For example, hot pepper is used for this.
Garlic cloves and bay leaves also help to keep bugs away. Just put them on top.
Some housewives do not put anything in the package with flour, but simply place it on the shelf next to dried wormwood or calendula.
If “aromatic protection” does not help, housewives use containers that beetles cannot get into: glass, plastic or metal containers with a lid.
