Housewives use glycerin not only in cosmetic procedures, but also to solve household problems.

There are two types of glycerin: natural (oil-based) and synthetic. Housewives use mainly the first.

Glass

Windows, mirrors, tables or decorative glass elements – all of this can be washed to a shine using glycerin.

Washing solution: 100 ml of water, 60 ml of glycerin and 6-8 drops of ammonia. Glass surfaces not only shine, but are also protected from dust.

To prevent mirrors from fogging up, wipe them with a solution of 1 tbsp. glycerin and 10 tbsp. ethyl alcohol or vodka.

Stain removal

Glycerin is used to remove almost any type of stain. For example, traces of berries can be removed with a mixture of egg yolk and 40 g of glycerin.

The product is applied to the contaminated surface and left for 3 hours, then wiped with a damp cloth.

Fabric softening

Glycerin softens the fabric from which bed linen and terry towels are made.

After washing, soak the items in a solution of 1 teaspoon of glycerin per 3 liters of water. Then rinse in the following liquid: 1 teaspoon of ammonia per 1 liter of water.
