The absence of a rolling pin is not a reason to refuse to make pizza, dumplings and other culinary products from dough.

You can roll out the sticky and tough semi-finished product using other tools.

An alternative to a rolling pin can be objects of cylindrical shape and with a smooth surface.

The best options for replacing a standard kitchen utensil are the following devices.

Glass bottle

If you have a glass container with a flat surface at home, you don’t need a rolling pin.

A glass bottle will do a great job of rolling out the dough.

But there are two important nuances. First, the container should be washed well. Especially from the outside. The reason is clear: no dirt should get on the dough.

Secondly, it is advisable to fill the bottle with water. This will make the container heavier and make it easier to roll out the flour semi-finished product: you won’t have to put in much effort, and the dough won’t stick. However, pouring in liquid is not at all necessary.

If the flour base is yeast, the liquid in the bottle should be warm. Otherwise, the container can be filled with cold water.

Plastic bottle

If you don’t have a glass bottle at hand, you can use a plastic one.

The requirement for the container is the same: no ribbed or uneven surfaces.

Unlike a glass bottle, a plastic container must be filled with water, because the empty container is too light.

Roll of cling film

This device will easily cope with rolling out semi-finished flour products, because it also has a cylindrical shape and a smooth surface.

The film, which has become dirty and sticky as a result of the procedure, can simply be removed.

You shouldn't roll out the dough with a roll of baking foil: it's not very convenient. In addition, the flour base can be damaged, especially if the packaging has already been opened.
