After washing, some things lose their softness. To keep towels, robes, and bed linen pleasant to the touch, special fabric conditioners are used. But not only is this quite expensive, such products can leave a strong odor and cause allergies.
Instead of store-bought fabric softeners, you can use folk recipes. As a result, after washing, things will become pleasant and cozy.
A homemade rinse aid made from 1 teaspoon of soda, 100 ml of water and a little essential oil will soften washed items and remove unpleasant odors. The product is used both in the washing machine and for hand washing.
The pleasant aroma lasts for almost a week. You can make it easier: add half a measuring cup of soda directly to a fully loaded drum. The laundry will be soft immediately after washing if you add a couple of teaspoons of salt to the powder compartment.
Instead of conditioner, when washing in an automatic machine, pour 50-100 ml of apple cider vinegar into the conditioner compartment. It will soften the fabric, help remove stains from sweat, cosmetics, coffee, and eliminate unpleasant odors. Of course, immediately after washing, the items will smell like vinegar. But this smell will disappear during the drying process.
You can make your own linen fragrance from improvised means. To do this, mix half a glass of vinegar and soda.
Dilute the mixture with a liter of water and add a few drops of lavender oil. Mix the mixture by shaking. Add half a measuring cup of home fragrance to the conditioner compartment per full drum of clothes.
An excellent rinse aid is obtained from Epsom salt. It will soften things and refresh colors. Add essential oil (10 drops) to a glass of salt. Seal tightly and shake well. When washing, add 2 spoons of this product to the conditioner compartment.
A solution of table salt will help terry items stay as fluffy as before washing. The solution is prepared in the required quantity, taking into account the ratio: 1 teaspoon of salt per 1 liter of water. Items are immersed in this solution after washing and left overnight. Then they are hung out to dry.
After washing, items can be soaked in ammonia solution for a couple of hours, using 1 teaspoon of ammonia per liter of water.
Then they need to be rinsed thoroughly and hung out to dry.
