Often woolen products, especially new ones, cause discomfort due to a slight but unpleasant tingling sensation.

There is no harm from this, but gradually the discomfort turns into real irritation, which interferes with work or doing other things.

There are several simple ways to deal with this effect.

1. Mustard

It is not suitable only for light-colored items, which may become stained in a characteristic color. Otherwise, take 2 tablespoons of mustard powder in a basin of warm water, dissolve it and soak the items for 40 minutes to 2 hours. The duration depends on how prickly the sweater or jacket turned out to be. Then rinse.

2. Vinegar

Turn the item inside out, dissolve 9% vinegar in water (1:2) and soak the wool item for 30 minutes. You don't need to rinse it, the vinegar smell will soon disappear.

3. Citric acid

For 0.5 liters of water take 1/3 teaspoon of citric acid. In this solution wet cotton fabric, through which then iron woolen items.

4. Hair conditioner

After washing, apply it to damp wool and rinse after 10 minutes.

5. Freezing

In this case, you won't have to soak or rinse anything. The item is simply placed in a thick bag and put in the freezer for a day. By the way, this same trick should be used if you suspect that moths or their larvae have appeared in the wool.
