Linoleum is not the most environmentally friendly, but it is a practical and unpretentious type of flooring.

Compared to wood or laminate, it is not as demanding, but you need to know how to properly care for it, otherwise it will soon lose its shine and gloss, and will also become covered in scratches.

Here's how experienced housewives cope with this task.

Linoleum does not like high temperatures, direct sunlight. It does not tolerate treatment with abrasives and materials.

At the same time, you can use both chemical liquids (gasoline or nail polish remover) and folk life hacks to clean it.

1. Mold and rust can be removed with lemon juice.

2. If scratches appear, you can rub them with wax. Of course, it won't eliminate the problem, but it will definitely disguise it.

3. If you need to restore the shine to the coating, you can use potato broth left over from boiling potatoes, or a starch solution (2-3 tablespoons of starch per bucket of water).

4. Also add milk to the water for washing the floor (1:1), wash the floor, and then wipe dry without waiting for the water to dry.

5. And the easiest way to restore the shine and gloss of linoleum is vegetable oil. It is also added to warm water for washing the floor, and then the surface is rubbed with a woolen cloth.

Before you begin testing these folk remedies in practice, the linoleum must first be swept, washed and cleaned of other contaminants.
