Do-it-yourself vacuum packaging: everything you need can be found in any kitchen

As you know, the shelf life of products is directly related to the form in which they are stored.

Proper packaging has repeatedly extended the “lifespan” of certain ingredients that are necessary in the process of preparing various dishes.

Thus, for some products it is necessary to create conditions that consist of completely isolating the air supply.

Instead of spending money on expensive vacuum sealers, try making your own packaging from scrap materials.

To do this, you will need a plastic bag, baking foil, and an iron.

First, place the food in the bag and try to pump out excess air from it - this can be done by sucking it out with a cocktail straw.

The edges of the bag need to be wrapped in foil. Make sure that the shiny side is on the inside.

Run a hot iron over the foil several times and assess the success of the operation. If you did everything correctly, the package will be sealed no worse than in the packaging shop.
