Of course, you can’t leave the bed in this state – having smelled a familiar smell, the cat may again urinate in the wrong place.
Therefore, you should act immediately. First, blot the stained area with a dry napkin. Do not press so that the moisture does not penetrate deep into the mattress.
After that, apply a layer of baking soda or table salt to the affected area. Even cat litter will do.
But that's not all. You can only get rid of the smell with a citric acid solution.
A teaspoon of citric acid should be diluted in a glass of cool water, then the mattress should be soaked in the resulting mixture and left in this form for 1.5-2 hours.
After the specified time, blot the fabric again, remove any remaining powder using a vacuum cleaner and wait until the mattress dries.
