Have you received a message on your smartphone from an unknown sender? Be careful!
This applies to both SMS and instant messaging.
It is possible that scammers are trying to deceive you.
Doubtful messages should be deleted immediately: don't even try to respond to them.
So, what kind of SMS and text messages in messengers are we talking about?
Messages with hyperlinks
An unknown sender sent you a text containing a link to a particular Internet portal?
Better not to risk it and delete such a message immediately! Otherwise, you might accidentally click on a hyperlink!
Typically, scammers accompany links with texts such as: “Please vote for your niece,” “Click here to claim your prize,” “Activate to receive a discount,” “Is that you in the photo?” etc.
Do not under any circumstances follow these links or attempt to continue the correspondence.
Messages asking to share money
Have you received an SMS or messenger message from a friend asking you to share some money?
Don't rush to send funds! And don't even rush to reply to a message! Contact this person first: call them or meet them in person.
Perhaps the attackers simply hacked your friend/relative's account or gained access to his/her phone.
Realized that scammers are really trying to contact you? Don't write responses! And if the messages you receive contain strange hyperlinks, delete them all just in case!
