In Belarus, the land amnesty has been extended until January 1, 2028.

However, within its framework, not all illegally occupied land plots can be legalized.

BELTA reports this with reference to the State Property Committee.

Who is not covered by the land amnesty?

As the State Property Committee explained, the refusal to legalize illegally occupied land plots is primarily related to the “red lines” established by urban planning regulations, as well as construction, environmental protection and fire safety legislation.

In addition, the status of forest lands and agricultural lands is taken into account.

To extend the amnesty to them, a corresponding decision by the president is needed.

As the head of the State Property Committee Dmitry Matusevich said, some regional executive committees have prepared the necessary orders, while others are in the process.

I think that the head of state will support it, the head of the department noted.

According to him, gardening associations and dacha cooperatives often find themselves in this situation, where people extend their plots towards the forest and, without noticing it, end up on forest fund lands.

It is not always possible to legalize land there, said the head of the State Property Committee.

It is also not always possible to legalize territories with conservation status.

According to the State Property Committee, citizens own approximately 5% of the land in the entire land fund.
