The Ministry of Information of Belarus has demanded that printed publications that could harm the national interests of the republic be withdrawn from sale.
It is reported that the agency is constantly working to identify and prevent the distribution of destructive literature.
Among these are publications that influence the “spiritual and moral sphere as an important component of national security.”
Destructive publications
The press service of the ministry reports this, noting that today destructive printed publications are available for sale in bookstores, large retail chains and online stores.
That is, literature that “distorts historical truth and justice and promotes non-traditional sexual relations.”
The agency also recorded publications that promote “religious intolerance, violence, cruelty and pornography.”
In addition, printed publications are available for sale that “incite hostility and hatred, popularizing subcultures that are non-traditional for Belarusian society.”
Also noted are the publications sold “on sex education for children”, which can negatively affect the physical and mental development of young Belarusians, distorting their understanding of true family values.
Requirement
In this regard, “with the aim of preserving the moral and ethical values and traditions of the Belarusian people,” the Ministry of Information has contacted distributors of printed materials.
He demanded that they “independently conduct an audit” of the publications they were selling.
Those that could “harm the national interests” of Belarus should be withdrawn from sale.
