It turns out that it is not only in Europe that you can work four days a week instead of five.
There is such an opportunity for some residents of Belarus. For whom exactly – said Deputy Head of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection Marina Artemenko.
According to her, parents of disabled children can apply for a four-day work week in the republic.
The opportunity to combine work with caring for a disabled child is one of the elements of state policy in the social direction, the official was quoted as saying by the publication Belarus Segodnya.
She noted that parents of such children have the opportunity to “claim an additional day off from work per week.”
She explained: although they work four days, wages are paid for all five days.
If parents for some reason cannot take advantage of the extra day off, an alternative is provided for them.
According to the information voiced by Artemenko, this is what a working day shortened by an hour looks like.
The specialist noted that this is a new legislative norm that has been in effect since January 1 of this year.
Thus, we create conditions so that parents can also work while raising disabled children, the deputy minister concluded.
