This Saturday, November 2, in the city of Mosty (Grodno region) a ceremony honoring agricultural workers is taking place as part of the festival-fair "Dazhynki-2024".
The event is attended by the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.
During his speech, the head of state admitted that, as a man of the earth, he has a special attitude towards this holiday.
"Small but mighty"
The Belarusian leader called “Dazhynki” a kind and “most real holiday” created by life itself, his press service reports .
This is the result of colossal work and the joy of its results. A reason to give deserved praise to the hands that grow bread and smell like bread, Lukashenko said.
Separately, he noted that the Grodno region, although the smallest in size, is very remote.
According to him, the region is one of the leaders in the country's agricultural sector, a cultural and spiritual center, where several UNESCO World Heritage sites are located.
However, the President added, “all of this might not have happened,” as well as the Grodno region, since the land and people here have repeatedly “become bargaining chips in political games.”
Not just a brand
Having arrived here, many years later, I must say that never again will the Grodno region and our Belarusians who live here be a bargaining chip for politicians, he promised.
He drew attention to the fact that today Belarus “stands firmly on its feet,” and its residents “have changed radically and learned a lot.”
The whole world knows: if you want to buy something tasty and high-quality, look for something marked “Made in Belarus,” the head of state added.
He also reported that Belarusians were able to “maintain high standards of natural products” in this technological age.
In the world, they have become not only a brand, but already a trend, the President said.
