The goose hunting season started in Belarus this Saturday, September 21.
It is now legal to hunt the white-fronted goose, bean goose, greylag goose, and Canada goose.
The season will last until December 8 of this year, Belta reports , citing the Belarusian Society of Hunters and Fishermen.
There they noted that during the specified period it is possible to hunt the listed animals of any sex and age.
This can be done during daylight hours in the following ways:
- from ambush;
- from the approach;
– from approaching small vessels (without an engine or with an inoperative engine).
You can use a smoothbore hunting rifle and shot cartridges.
It is also permitted to use hunting dogs, with the exception of hounds and greyhounds.
In addition, hunting without weapons using hunting birds is permitted.
At the same time, the BOOR warned: even the unintentional harvesting of a wild animal not classified as a game animal, or a game animal not listed in the hunting permit, is fraught with serious consequences.
A person may be deprived of the opportunity to engage in recreational hunting for a long time.
Therefore, a hunter must be able to distinguish between game animals and know the distinctive features of wild animals that are not game animals, including those listed in the Red Book.
