The Council of Ministers has amended regulations on issues of state benefits for families raising children.
The innovations will come into force on January 1 next year.

What will change in the payment of benefits to families with children from January 1, 2025
Firstly, the innovations will affect maternity benefits and temporary disability benefits for childcare.
In order to increase their size, those periods of caring for a child under three years of age when maternity leave was interrupted due to the liquidation of the employer will be excluded from the calculation of sick leave.
The calculation of average daily earnings for mothers who are planning a second or subsequent maternity leave will also change.
Secondly, innovations are envisaged for benefits related to the birth and upbringing of children.
In particular, the opportunity will be provided for the other parent to receive the benefit if the parent to whom the benefit has been assigned is recognized as having limited legal capacity.
Also, the other parent will be able to receive benefits if the parent who is assigned benefits has an illness that prevents him or her from fulfilling parental responsibilities.
In addition, it is envisaged to introduce a uniform procedure for changing the amount of benefits.
Benefits will be reduced and increased from the date of occurrence of circumstances that entail such a change.
