Performances were simply cancelled en masse. So when the question of Orbakaite performing at New Year's events arose, she refused. But it seems she has changed her mind.
The head of the Federal Project on Security and Combating Corruption in Russia reported that Orbakaite will take part in the filming of a well-known project, writes the Zen channel VokrugTV.
Kristina Orbakaite's main source of income is concert activity outside of Russia.
But shortly before the New Year holidays, the question of involving the singer in the filming arose.
And as Vitaly Borodin assures, Kristina Orbakaite agreed to take part in the New Year's concert on Channel One.
The official believes that the channel's administration decided to "create the effect of surprise from her appearance."
The message did not particularly please the public. According to media reports, Internet users left at least 500 angry comments.
