Biography of Evel Knievel
Knievel was born in 1938 in the town of Butte in the northwestern United States.
In his youth, the American was actively involved in sports: he took part in ski jumping competitions.
In 1966, Knievel began his career as a motorcycle stunt performer.
The stuntman used this vehicle to jump over fountains, as well as buses and trucks parked one behind the other.
Not all of Knievel's stunts ended successfully.
The stuntman fell more than once. And many of these falls resulted in fractures.
During his career as a stuntman, Knievel broke 40 bones. The total number of fractures is 433.
One of the stunts resulted in Knievel's 29-day coma.
In the early 1980s, the American decided to stop performing dangerous stunts.
Evel Knievel died in November 2007. The cause of death of the outstanding stuntman was acute respiratory failure.
Knievel is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the person with the most broken bones.
