Abreu played for legendary teams such as Deportivo, Real Sociedad and River Plate.

The footballer played for clubs from Uruguay, Spain, Brazil, Argentina, Ecuador, Paraguay, Mexico, El Salvador, Greece and Israel.

Abreu was a prolific striker, scoring over 300 goals in various national championships.

Playing for the Uruguayan national team, the forward scored 26 goals.

The outstanding Uruguayan is now 48 years old.

He is currently involved in coaching. Abreu is the head coach of the Mexican club Dorados de Sinaloa.
