It would seem that what could be simpler than crying?
But for Tembu Ebere, this routine process turned into a dangerous experiment.
A Nigerian man has decided to test his strength by holding a week-long "marathon of tears" in order to get into the Guinness Book of Records.

Instead of triumph, he was faced with a series of unexpected problems that he did not even suspect.
Ebere began filming his "crying challenge" in hopes of documenting his achievement. In the footage, he sobbed, clutched his head, and showed a timer counting down.
The video quickly gained 5.3 million views on TikTok, but its popularity turned against it.
Within a few hours, the man felt a headache and his face and eyes were swollen.
The climax came when Tembu temporarily lost his sight - for almost an hour the world was plunged into darkness for him.
Despite the torment, Ebere never became a record holder.
It turned out that he had not studied the rules: no official application had been submitted to the organization, and the “crying marathon” itself did not meet the criteria.
The Book of Records representatives reminded that before attempting it is important to make sure that the achievement actually exists and that the participant is ready to comply with the requirements.
Tembu's story is a vivid example of how the pursuit of fame can backfire. Instead of a place in history, the man received health problems and a lesson: sometimes even tears are best kept under control.
