Records that are hard to believe: the whole world knows about them

The world is full of incredible records that make you wonder, “How is this even possible?”

For example, a man from India did not cut his nails for 66 years, and their total length exceeded 9 meters.

Each finger resembled a writhing spring, and to avoid damaging his nails, he slept sitting up and avoided any sudden movements.

But even this doesn't compare to the story of a woman who collected her own hair. Over 30 years, she collected a 15 kg ball of hair by twisting the fallen strands into it.

There is also a record holder who juggled burning torches for 10 hours straight while standing on a rolling log. It would seem dangerous, but he never got burned.

Speaking of strange competitions, Finland hosts an annual wife-carrying championship. Men complete an obstacle course with their partners on their backs, and the winner gets a beer equal to his wife's weight.

And in Japan they organize marathons for those “tired of life” - participants run 100 km without a break, and only those who do not fall asleep on the run finish.

But the most absurd record, perhaps, belongs to a resident of Norway, who photographed the same landscape every day for 30 years in a row. His pictures include clouds, snow, rain and sun, but not a single person.

Nature can also surprise. In California, there is a "tunnel tree" - a giant sequoia, in the trunk of which a passage for cars was cut in the 19th century. Now the tree is still alive, although its core is charred after a fire.

And in Australia there are termite mounds as tall as a three-story building - they were built by millions of insects over hundreds of years.

But the most terrifying natural phenomenon is Lake Natron in Tanzania. Due to the high concentration of soda and salt, the water here resembles thick lye.

Birds, bats, and even large animals that accidentally touch the surface are transformed into stone sculptures. Minerals soak into their bodies, preserving their shape for decades.

Did you know about "flying" cows? In 1997, a tornado in the US lifted a herd of 12 animals into the air. They were found alive several kilometers away, and since then local farmers have joked that cows are now afraid of rain.

Another unexplained incident is the spider "rain" in Argentina. Residents of a small town saw thousands of tiny spiders falling from the sky.

Scientists explained that the young individuals migrated using webs as parachutes, but to onlookers it looked like a scene from a horror film.

And finally: there are people in the world who compete in inaction. In the Couch Lie Championship, participants do not move, do not sleep, and do not use gadgets for hours.

The winner receives a prize, but most importantly, the title of “Master of Relaxation”.

It seems that this is the only record that I want to break.
