One of the traditional winter activities is making snowmen.
On the streets you can see many snow sculptures in the form of "little people".
Some "sculptors" have a desire to compete.
So, some people are trying to figure out who can build the biggest snowman.
About 5 years ago, a team from Austria decided to set a world record. And the desired result was achieved.
What is known about the snowman made in 2020
The snow sculpture turned out to be gigantic. Its height was 38.04 meters: much higher than a nine-story building.
The previous result was surpassed by 83 centimeters: in 2008, in the American town of Bethel, a snowman was made 37.21 meters high.
As for the Austrian “record holder”, it took more than a month to create it.
Of course, it was impossible to create such a giant by hand: various equipment was used, including snow cannons and lifting machines.
A huge amount of snow was needed: several hundred tons of white “flakes” were used to create the snow sculpture.
It is also worth emphasizing that the process of making the world's largest snowman turned out to be very expensive: it took about 60,000 euros.
But the record was set and recorded: the giant snow sculpture was clearly liked by local residents and tourists.
