There are many gardeners and vegetable growers around the world who strive – and often succeed – to grow giant vegetables and fruits.

They are inspired by passion, deep commitment to their work, and the desire to become famous or create something unique, something that will be remembered for a long time.

Some lucky people are so successful that they get their own page in the Guinness Book of Records.

Interesting, isn't it? So let's find out about one of those people.

We'll talk about a man who managed to grow carrots of an unprecedented size!

But first try to guess how much the amazing vegetable weighed? It is unlikely that you will succeed in doing this the first time.

After all, the weight of the giant carrot is truly impressive: it is more than 10 kilograms.

To be precise, the record-breaking carrot weighs 10 kilograms and 180 grams – more than impressive figures.

The "author" of the record is American Chris Qualley.

At the time of setting the record, Chris was 34 years old. He managed to achieve impressive results not only in growing vegetables, but also in family matters - Qualley is the father of three children.

The giant carrot was grown by him in his own garden, located, of course, in the United States.

It happened in 2017 – as soon as Chris dug up the giant carrot, he immediately applied to the Guinness Book of Records to register the record.

They found out that Qualley's vegetable was more than 1 kilogram heavier than the carrot grown by the previous record holder, British resident Peter Glazebrook, so Chris deservedly received the title of the owner of the largest carrot.
