How the record for the longest applause was set

It is worth emphasizing right away that the applause did not come after someone’s performance or after the demonstration of some work of art.

People clapped their hands to "send a message to the world" and at the same time break the previous record for the longest clapping.

Almost 1,000 people gathered in the Ugandan city of Kampala.

They applauded continuously for 3 hours, 16 minutes and 1 second.

During all this time, none of the participants in the event ever went anywhere.

Moreover, no one stopped clapping: not even for one second.

The applause was loud, averaging 88 decibels.

As a result, the compilers of the Guinness Book of Records acknowledged that the meeting participants managed to surpass the previous achievement, recorded in 2019 in the UK.

By the way, the previous record was: 2 hours 5 minutes.
