US citizen Roy Sullivan set an unusual record: he was struck by lightning 7 times and did not die.
Thanks to this fact, the American got into the Guinness Book of Records.
And Sullivan, who survived in difficult conditions, began to be called "Lightning Rod Man".
Biography of Roy Sullivan
He was born in 1912 in the American state of Virginia.
At age 24, Sullivan took a job at Shenandoah National Park.
The man received the position of security inspector.
While working as a park ranger, Sullivan found himself in life-threatening situations more than once.
The first time this happened was in 1942, when a man was struck by lightning.
The inspector found himself in a similar situation six more times, the last time in 1977.
Knowing about Sullivan's "ability" to "attract" lightning to himself, many people were afraid to be near him. This situation greatly upset the man.
Roy Sullivan passed away in the fall of 1983.
