In the autumn of 2006, an unusual musical event took place.
A concert was held on the Statoil Troll oil platform in the North Sea.
The show, which was organized almost 18 years ago, is mentioned in the Guinness Book of Records.
And for good reason. The event was recognized as the deepest underwater concert in history.
What is known about the deepest sea concert
The event took place on October 2, 2006.
The show took place on the Troll-A gas production platform, which belonged to the Norwegian energy company, then called Statoil.
The concert was held at a depth of 303 meters below sea level.
This fact was recorded by the compilers of the Guinness Book of Records.
The event included a performance by British singer Katie Melua, who was 22 years old at the time.
Before the concert, the performer and representatives of her musical group underwent a medical examination.
In addition, the musicians were given preliminary consultation: they were told how to act in extreme situations.
Melua's performance was followed by oil workers, as well as the compilers of the above-mentioned reference book.
