Billy Leon McCrary and Benny Loyd McCrary, or the McGuire Twins, are listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the heaviest twins in the world.
Their weight was 328 and 338 kg respectively.
The twins were born prematurely on December 7, 1946, weighing 2.2 kg each.
Benny says he and his brother began gaining weight when they were four years old. The cause was the rubella virus, which damaged their pituitary gland, the gland that produces hormones that control growth.
As a result, by the age of 10, the brothers weighed 90.7 kg, and in high school they already weighed 272 kg.
However, the obviously “extra” kilos did not prevent Billy and Benny from leading an active life.
The brothers were married, drove cars that were custom-made, flew on airplanes (paying for four seats instead of two), but what's even more remarkable is that they became celebrities in wrestling and carnival stunt shows.
Another passion of the McGuire twins is bikes. Unfortunately, it was because of a mini-bike stunt that Billy died - he was 32 years old when he was injured and subsequently died.
Benny's cause of death was heart failure and he left this world at the age of 54.
