On July 28, 1945, American Betty Lou Oliver was very lucky: she miraculously survived.
That day, the woman twice found herself on the brink of death.
First, a US citizen was seriously injured after a plane crashed into the building she was in.
And then the girl survived after an elevator fell from a great height.

The American woman worked in the famous Empire State Building office skyscraper in New York.
One summer day in 1945, a B-25 bomber crashed into the building.
Betty survived the incident, although she suffered burns and other serious injuries.
Rescuers came to the girl's aid and began evacuation.
The young American woman was placed in the elevator. And then another incident occurred: the lifting machine broke loose from its mountings.
The elevator fell from a height of 300 meters. And Betty survived again. She was hospitalized.
The American woman spent several months in the medical facility. As a result, Betty fully recovered.
Thanks to her “double” survival in the tragedy of July 28, 1945 (by the way, that incident took 14 lives), the American woman got into the Guinness Book of Records.
Betty Lou Oliver died in late fall 1999 at the age of 75.
