Hobbies come in many different forms, but that's no reason to judge people for their choice, even if it's a piggy bank of clipped nails.
This is exactly the hobby chosen by oil investor Richard Gibson. He became interested in collecting in 1978.
To call this hobby strange is putting it mildly.
Nevertheless, the man stubbornly collected every fingernail and toenail he cut with his own hands and put them in a special box.
He didn’t have any intention as such, but he started collecting scraps out of sporting interest, and then he simply couldn’t stop.
At first, he set himself the goal of filling one box. He succeeded in doing this in just two years.
Having collected his belongings, he poured the scraps into a large glass jar.
Only God knows how many nails he collected. The jar is now 99% full.
Gibson doesn't know what to do with his collection next. He figures there's enough room in the vessel for a few more months.
It is possible that he will then transfer the cuttings to a more spacious container and continue his innocent hobby.
All this time, the collector hid the jar of nails from his wife and friends.
The fact that such a collection even exists became known after the broadcast of the show “I Believe It or Not” and thanks to the book “Shocking Reality”.
