It was recently announced that Warsaw had decided to extend the buffer zone on the border with Belarus, which was introduced in mid-June, for another 90 days.
Representatives of the Polish Ministry of Internal Affairs reported this.
Interior Minister Tomasz Siemoniak signed an order to extend the buffer zone for another 90 days, the Belta news agency quotes the neighboring country's Interior Ministry as saying.
Warsaw announced that its decision will come into force from this Tuesday, December 10, 2024.
Let us recall that the buffer zone on the Polish-Belarusian border has been in effect since June 13.
The validity period was initially calculated for 90 days, but in September it was extended for another 90 days.
This zone, according to Polish media, extends along a 60.67 km long section of the border.
The buffer zone is located within the territorial radius of the border service posts in Narewka, Bialowieza, Dubicze-Cerkiewnia and Czeremha.
And on a 44-kilometer stretch, the zone is located just 200 meters from the state border line.
On a section of approximately 16 kilometers, located in the reserve zone, it widens and is about two kilometers.
