Problems with bite
According to PhD dentist Lidiya Peryshkina, congenital bite problems are more common in large dogs (shepherds and Dobermans).
Protruding lower teeth cause discomfort to dogs, injure gums, and cause the development of infections and pathologies.
In this case, braces must be installed.
But, as Russian media report, citing the head physician of one of Moscow’s veterinary clinics, Anastasia Zatushevskaya, it happens that the system is installed for aesthetic purposes for subsequent participation in exhibitions.
It is important to remember here that this is a useless and dangerous procedure.
Firstly, uneven bite does not bother dogs. Secondly, anesthesia is required during installation and subsequent constant examination.
If a dog has a weak cardiovascular system, then one day the pet may not be able to withstand such an intervention.
In addition, the service is not cheap, and the dog constantly tries to remove the braces. Therefore, the pet has to be protected from communication with relatives and make sure that the dog does not chew anything.
All this causes additional stress for the animal.
