Stroking a cat is a real art. It unexpectedly turned out that sometimes pets simply hide their irritation, the cause of which was precisely the owner's attempts to please them.

However, it won't be difficult for an experienced owner to notice discontent.

Let's find out how to pet a cat correctly so that your pet is happy.

Firstly, you can pet the cat if it came by itself

It is better not to approach with your affection a cat or a cat that is lying aside. Also, you should not stroke a sleeping animal, during washing, playing, visiting the toilet.

But if the animal itself came to the person, then it is clearly in a good mood and you can do more than just scratch it behind the ear.

Secondly, don't try to hug animals.

A cat's hot hugs are seen as an attempt to hold on and a threat to safety.

Usually in this case the animal tries to escape, scratches and bites.

But if the cat itself lies down on your lap or nearby, then you can not only stroke the pet, but even hug it.

Thirdly, body parts

Cats get the most pleasure from having their head, ears, and neck stroked.

It is with these parts of the body that the pet comes into contact with a person when it meets him and leaves its scent on him.

Fourth, watch the reaction

If the cat likes everything, then it will react to the owner’s kind impulse within a few seconds, putting its head under the hand, starting to close its eyes, relax and purr.

If these signs are not present, but the cat does not run away, then most likely it is simply tolerating the antics of its owner.
