There are several foods that pose a huge health risk to cats.
Frequent consumption of such food can lead to blindness in the animal.
We're talking about... any sweet.
What foods can make a cat go blind?
When cats consume too many sweets, their normal insulin production stops, and a dangerous disease called diabetes appears.
Against the background of this disease, the furry one may develop vision problems.
The situation can lead to complete blindness.
To avoid this most serious consequence, the cat owner should under no circumstances give his pet the following products:
- any confectionery products (chocolate, cakes, pastries, sweets, etc.);
- sweet pastries;
- condensed milk;
- yogurt (especially with sweet additives);
- sweet carbonated drinks.
It is worth noting that eating sweets can provoke the appearance of many other health problems in a cat (obesity, gastrointestinal problems, kidney problems, dental problems, etc.).
It should also be emphasized that fluffy creatures do not feel the sweet taste. Purrs do not get much pleasure from eating desserts. This is another argument in favor of not including sweets in the pet's diet.
