Some cat owners proudly note that their pets show a craving for sweets, and then begin to spoil them with sweets.
However, such behavior is fundamentally wrong - products that contain high amounts of sugar are contraindicated for members of the feline family.
Why cats can't have sweets
There is more than one reason why desserts for cats are banned.
Firstly, sweets contain a lot of calories, and this is fraught with obesity, which, as we know, is followed by other diseases.
Secondly, our four-legged friends have very thin tooth enamel. Sugar works as an "activator" of oral bacteria. The result of such contact is the destruction of enamel, the development of caries, periodontitis and other dental diseases.
Thirdly, sugar consumption by cats can lead to stomach upset, which manifests itself in the form of diarrhea, an increase in the number of excess bacteria in the intestines and a disruption of its microflora.
Excess insulin provokes stroke and contributes to metabolic disorders, and this is the fourth reason.
Fifthly, diabetes often causes vision loss in animals. Thus, sugar consumption can lead to blindness in animals.
In the sixth point, we will combine all the remaining reasons, such as the progression of urolithiasis, deterioration of the cat's coat, and the apathetic and lethargic state of the pet.
Earlier we named the commands that every dog should know.
