Throughout the year, the dog requires attention and care.
Each season has its own characteristics. Take them into account for the well-being of your dog.
Today we will talk about the peculiarities of care at different times of the year, says Diana Belyaeva .
Winter
Provide your pet with warmth and protection from the cold. Special winter overalls or blankets are sold for short-haired and small dogs. If the dog is frozen outside, go home immediately.
Protect your pet's paws from road salts and reagents. Avoid these areas or buy special protective wax. Wash your dog's paws thoroughly after a walk.
Avoid walking on slippery surfaces. This can be traumatic for dogs' joints.
Spring
In spring, nature blossoms. Dogs develop many allergens. Monitor the condition of the skin, fur, corners of the eyes. If you notice something, consult a specialist. Do not self-medicate.
Ticks. Don't forget to treat your dog as soon as the temperature outside is above zero. After walks in the forest, carefully examine your pet.
Summer
Pay attention to protection from overheating. Do not leave the dog in open sunny spaces or in closed cars. Provide cold water. Wet the dog's belly. Do not cut the dog. The coat performs a thermoregulatory function.
Do not walk on hot asphalt. This may cause a burn.
Autumn
The weather is unpredictable at this time of year. Adjust your walks with your pet to the weather conditions. Don't go out in a thunderstorm. Many dogs are afraid of loud sounds, which is often the reason for the animal to run away.
Regardless of the time of year, always pay attention to your dog, provide it with full walks and properly selected nutrition.
Follow your veterinarian's recommendations, don't forget about annual vaccinations and keep your pet's hygiene in check. This is the only way to ensure your dog has a happy and prosperous life throughout all seasons!
