Many dogs exhibit very interesting behavior when they see an unhappy owner.
Pets begin to look at a person with a “sorrowful look.”
The owner, seeing the sad eyes of his four-legged friend, will probably think: “The dog is ashamed of what he just did.”
But is this conclusion correct? It turns out not.
Contrary to popular belief, dogs do not feel guilty at all.
These pets do not have such emotions at all: they do not know what “good” and “evil” are.
Why Do Dogs Make Their Eyes Look "Sad"?
The pet widens its eyes specifically to appear defenseless.
The animal does this with one very simple goal: to pity the owner and avoid punishment for breaking one rule or another.
The dog is unlikely to be ashamed of torn furniture and broken vases.
But the animal may well experience fear of an angry person. As a result, the four-legged friend will start to "cheat".
