Probably because puppies eat constantly and as much as they want, even as they grow up, they require the same regularity in feeding.

How many times a day to feed a dog
The older your dog gets, the less often you should feed it:
- at the age of 2 months – 3-4 times a day;
- aged 3 to 6 months – 3 times a day;
- aged 6 to 12 months – 2 times a day;
- after one year – 1-2 times a day.
For the average dog, two meals a day are enough - feeding in equal portions.
In the absence of problems with weight and activity level, this is considered normal.
What to do if your dog constantly asks for food
The issue of begging is primarily related to the upbringing of a pet.
In addition, it is worth considering such a reason as a health problem. Dogs, unlike cats, have a weak sense of satiety, and they can eat as long as there is food in their stomach.
