It turns out that scientists still cannot adequately explain why dogs wag their tails.

There are theories that are accepted by society - the animal thus shows sympathy.

But some scientists believe that this is simply the result of domestication.

Tail wagging is generally considered a sign of positive emotion or excitement.

Why does a dog wag its tail?

Dogs can also ask for or even demand food in this way. In other words, the animal asks for food by wagging its tail.

The second hypothesis is that wagging is associated with domestication and prolonged exposure to humans – supposedly humans are attracted to rhythmic stimuli and animals have developed a corresponding instinct.

It is also believed that aggressive dogs wag their tails more often.
